One of the most intriguing companies I’ve had the opportunity to meet recently is Veeker, a San Francisco-based start-up which has been under the radar until recently. The company has created a technology and public portal to share video uploaded by mobile phones. Unlike YouTube, the clips are seen by authorized viewers in a social network. I visited with co-founder Rodger Raderman at the company’s loft office in an unmarked industrial building in San Francisco. Rodger, founder of the trailblazing iFilm, says that the clip are not necessarily going to be publicly shared, but are more for communicating between friends and family. The videos are uploaded but not yet downloaded to phones, so they are viewed on Web pages on computers and other Web-enabled devices. It is very impressive and I think the implications are profound. This whole revolution in consumer generated content has been made possible largely by inexpensive camcorders, digital cameras and increasing numbers of mobile phones with video cameras. Since nearly everyone has a mobile phone, and many models have video cameras, (check yours) there is going to be tidal wave of new video content. This is very exciting and particularly in parts of world where broadband is not available, but fast (3G) networks are in place. Gadget Envy — The phone that Rodger is using is the Samsung SCH a990. I checked it out at the Verizon store today and it’s quite nice — 3.2 megapixel which is pretty much like a decent digital …
Here’s a watch phone that’ll change the way you look at wrist watch phones. [ www.xtronics.ch]. Most working people have discounted watch phones as just another gadget that people who are fanatical about electronics and who have perhaps spent too much time reading Dick Tracy comics are interested in. The Mobile Phone Watch may just be the GSM watch phone to change their mind. The makers of this wrist phone have packed in a tri-band receiver… touchscreen and extremely workable keypad and well-placed cell phone camera into one package that would not look amiss on any guys arm when they’re at work. The makers have even paired it up with a bluetooth cell phone headset to make it a completely wireless cell phone and incredibly workable for when you’re on the road. They’ve also made sure it’s an unlocked phone so that you can hook up to any network you like. Now on www.xtronics.ch

i am using AMD Athlon computer (without bluetooth). I use my wired headphone with mic for skype.
Please advise any wireless headphone or bluetooth headphone, headset or earpiece for the purpose.
Since I am in office it would be nice if the gadget is as small as possible (like bluetooth earpiece for mobile phones).
Please tell me the most affordable solution for that in India.
My two-employee (with an occasional intern) office has a very old phone system, one with probably more features than we need. We have four lines coming in. A few weeks ago, something strange happened to the phones, making them not work the same way they used to. Since this system is so old, we do not have any of the telephone or system manuals and don’t know how to fix it. We may need new phones or an entire new system.
The current phone seems to be a PBX system. The cabinet and three phones are all Fujitsu. I guess my question is can I just buy new 4-line phones (nice and cheap) and us them with the current cabinet, or do I also need a new cabinet (not so cheap)?
Our office would probably be fine with a key-less system, just using the phones, but I imagine that would involve a removal of the current cabinet, which would also require professional installation (un-installation) services. Any ideas are appreciated. We are looking for the most cost-effective option. Thanks.
